One of the many things shared between members of the queer community is a love of escapism, and rooted in escapism are two of my favourite hobbies; reading and travel. In fact, they’re the inspiration behind this blog. They’re also what prompted my latest book purchase; The Rainbow Atlas.

Beautifully designed, The Rainbow Atlas details some of the most colourful destinations across the globe. From natural wonders like Iceland’s blue lagoon, to the vibrant street art splashed across the Wanhua district of Taipei city, the atlas could inspire new trip ideas for any traveller.

However, if you’re looking for a brightly coloured place to explore closer to home, the Rainbow Atlas mentions some beautiful Canadian destinations as well.

Unfortunately, we’re not all lucky enough to have our own Muskoka lake house, but that shouldn’t stop you from exploring the area!

Every fall the Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery harvests more cranberries than most people will see in their lives. One of the ways they do this is by flooding the fields and creating a sea of cranberries! So if you want a photo op surrounded by amazing fall colours be sure to hit up Muskoka.

Though I definitely recommend checking out the Rainbow Atlas for yourself, if you’d like to read more of my ramblings on one of Canada’s most colourful places, check out my trip to St. John’s NF to see jellybean row!
