SamEverywhere I travel I like to find a pen. A unique souvenir to add to my collection, and remind me of what I loved about that particular place. It seems many of us who are passionate about something like to collect mementos, not only as keepsakes, but as a way to show off our passions to the world.
Gryphon Books in Port Hope has found a wonderful way to show off their passion for literature through their bookmark wall. The front wall of the shop is covered in a beautiful array of bookmarks from all over, many showcasing logos of other small bookstores. The collection is truly magnificent, and I’m sure it will be adored by every other bookworm who gets the chance to visit the shop.
While the wall of bookmarks was indeed the highlight of my visit, there are so many things to love about Gryphon Books.
Hidden down a side street off of downtown Port Hope, Gryphon Books is everything you hope for in a used bookstore. A cozy atmosphere and slightly mystical vibe welcomes you as you walk through the door.
The shop has done a great job curating a unique and interesting array of books. What I found particularly special about Gryphon is their collection of children’s books. From the classics, to contemporary treasures in fantasy and fiction, this shop has something for every young reader.
