Cordial Clove Books is not only a queer-owned small business, it’s a business that supports other queer-owned businesses! In the store you can find tons of fun novelty items and stationery made by other local and LGBTQ+ artists and businesses. Every time I enter this shop, I find my self-control tested as I try to leave without buying every bookish sticker and trinket in sight.
Elora Ontario is a bright and beautiful small town, but I’ll be honest, I’ve often made the drive out there just to go to Cordial Clove. It is a vibrant and welcoming store owned by a mother-daughter duo. Every time I go in, I’m surrounded by a warm, cheerful energy. The owners are incredibly friendly, and have wonderful reading recommendations.
The store mainly carries used books, occasionally putting out some new releases, and has a section for LGBTQ+ literature. Shelves and tables are stacked with books in every direction. After finding a great read, you can pick out a cute bookmark or adorable pin as well!
Cordial Clove is clearly a very community-oriented business, embracing both the queer community and the local community of Elora. You can find local literature and hiking guides in the shop to help you explore the beautiful town.
If you’re ever in Elora, or even if you’re not, don’t forget to check out Cordial Clove Books!
