Do you ever find that when you go out for a bit the food never looks quite as good as it did in the pictures? You expect to be served a big slice of gooey cake with a perfect swirl of ice cream on top, but the reality is a disappointing sliver with a bit of melted cool whip.
This wasn’t a problem I had at the Blonde Biscuiterie in Montreal! The cookies in this little bakery looked like they could’ve come out of a Dr. Suess book. Stuffed, filled, and topped with every flavour you could hope for, it was impossible to choose just one to try. I settled on half a dozen to share with friends, and I have no regrets. Not a single flavour fell short. The kinder and funfetti were particularly the cookies of dreams.
Right in the heart of Montreal’s Gay Village, Blonde Biscuiterie fits right in with its vibrant retro atmosphere. While the custom Ms. Pacman machine was a sight to behold, it was the large collection of neon signs that drew my eye. Complete with a big neon rainbow heart, the wall of signs is the perfect addition to this quirky shop.
The staff were friendly and welcoming to all, and were thankfully willing to wait patiently while I indecisively pondered cookie flavours. Besides their signature stuffed cookies, Blonde Biscuiterie also offers cookie cakes, and a variety of fun seasonal goodies. This place is a blessing to any sweet-tooths in the area.
Next time you’re headed to catch a drag show, or just taking a wander around the village, stop in at the Blonde Biscuiterie. If you’re anything like me you’ll still be dreaming about their cookies long after.
